IRUGASA was formed in the late 1980’s to offer export sales expertise to the emerging lifting equipment companies located within the Basque region of Northern Spain. IRUGASA successfully increased the world-wide markets for these companies eventually leading to the IRUGASA companies becoming independent. 

IRUGASA (UK) Ltd (formed in 1994) became a standalone company in 2000 but has a proud association with IKUSI since 1997 under the banner of  Industrial Remote Control Systems Ltd.

The IRUGASA Group aims to keep up its traditional links to the Basque and Catalan regions of Spain coupled with its firm British  roots planted 20 years ago. IKUSI is a well-established designer and manufacturer of electronic systems based on radio transmission and communication. Since 2010 IKUSI had been part of Velatia, a family-run, industrial and technological group with a global reach.

In 2019 Danfoss acquired the remote control divison of Ikusi, to be intergrated into the Power Solutions segment, whilst maintaining its manufacturing facility in San Sebastian, Spain.

With continued product development by Danfoss our traditional market for Danfoss radio controls now extends far from the industrial lifting sector and into diverse fields such as agriculture and forestry machinery, drainage cleaning and garbage collection trucks and many more non lifting applications. 

Irugasa now is a key RCT provider, being both a Danfoss Build Centre and a Premium Partner.
